The Faculty of Science plays a pivotal role of ensuring that the University achieves its mandate as a University of Science and Technology. Its programmes are drawn and reviewed regularly to ensure relevance. The Faculty has a mechanism that ensures increased enrolment and quality services in science and technology. We believe in scientific knowledge being essential to sustainable development. We have good industrial and institutional linkages. The Faculty’s strong human resource and ultra-modern laboratory facilities remains our greatest strength.
The Faculty of Science was formed on July, 2008 after splitting from the former Faculty of Science and Engineering. It is endowed with highly qualified staff. The vision of the faculty is to be a center of excellence in Science and Technology responsive to the needs of the society through knowledge creation and application.
To generate, preserve and disseminate knowledge by integrating science and technology into quality programmes while engaging in innovation, research, training, consultancy and teaching

The faculty of Science aims to:
To teach , train and produce quality graduates annually upon completion of four years of study and enhance efficiency to a target of 100% completion rate by monitoring performance
To promote quality education by reviewing programmmes after a cycle of four years based on societal needs
To promote scholarship through linkages and partnerships both local and international institutions
To address societal challenges innovatively through research and technology transfer
To promote productivity by granting sufficient and distinct competencies on semester basis with commensurate infrastructure
